“What’s Ultimate?” Ultimate Frisbee is a non-contact, fast-paced sport that combines some of the most exciting elements of other popular sports – the passing and flow of soccer (football), the jumping and pivoting of basketball, and the long “touchdown” catches of American football – resulting in a sport that is truly one of a kind.

Ultimate not only provides great exercise, but is also easy to learn, allowing beginners the chance to get involved from the very start. Best of all is the social aspect of Ultimate Frisbee. Guys and girls play together on the same team, resulting in a fun, relaxed atmosphere where long-lasting friendships are readily developed. So what are you waiting for? Spirit of the Game sets Ultimate apart from other competitive team sports. For over 30 years, Ultimate has flourished, reaching a highly competitive level, without the use of referees. In Ultimate, the honor system works. Sure, human nature rears its ugly head from time to time – just as in any sport, just as in life. Yet, one of the many beauties of Ultimate is how, even amid the most difficult of situations, utmost graciousness is allowed to meet that challenge head on. Through this balance, Ultimate players are free to demonstrate the most honorable and the most joyous sides of human nature in sport.Ultimate is essentially non-contact; any contact between players can be declared a foul. There’s a variety of other minor violations, but that’s the big one. Even at World Championship level, according to a code of conduct known as “the Spirit of the Game”. This places the responsibility for fair play on the players themselves. In that respect, playing Ultimate is a completely different experience to playing other sports. And believe it or not, Ultimate’s system of self-refereeing works. Beautifully.

The club was founded in 1997 by expatriates living in Hanoi, incrementally Vietnamese were introduced to the sport of Ultimate Frisbee and came to practice on a regular basis. Today, a large portion of the club members are Vietnamese: students and professionals. The fact that locals/nationals make up the core of the team permit the stable continuity of the Hanoi team and the growth of Ultimate Frisbee in Vietnam.

All visiting Ultimate players, regardless of their skill level, are welcome to join the clubs’ practices and activities and share their knowledge or lack thereof and passion for the sport of Ultimate. Presently the Hanoi Ultimate Club is composed of anywhere between 30-60 players, who meet twice a week to play Ultimate Frisbee, come play.

people say it’s slow, and it can’t even jump !! but we say, people are wrong!!

Let come back to the story of “the race of rabbit and turtle” which proved that we can beat any fast and high jumping lazy rabbits

Unity is strength, team work makes success, and “catch it your way” is our slogan, it also shows the spirit of members of Hanoi Ultimate Club.

Well, we’re trying to make things humorously, but wait, with a lovely 1000 years old Hanoi, turtle is a true legend!

For centuries, Hanoians have been fascinated by the mysterious turtle that lives underneath the tranquil waters of Hoan Kiem Lake, passing down stories about the beloved creature from generation to generation.

The heart of Ha Noi, Hoan Kiem Lake looks tranquil and peaceful. On hot summer days, Hanoians rush to the western bank of the lake to catch a cool breeze or to simply enjoy the scenery.

In the center of the Hoan Kiem lake, there’s a Turtle Tower.

But the picturesque lake is more than just a beautiful site – it is the stuff of legends. According to a tale that dates back to the 15th century, King Le Loi, also known as Le Thai To, the founder of the Le Dynasty, found a holy turtle during a cruise on the then Luc Thuy, or green lake. The turtle told the King to return the sacred sword that had helped him defeat the northern Ming aggressors now that peace had returned. Le Thai To unsheathed his sword and threw it to the turtle. He later named the lake “Hoan Kiem” (Lake of Returned Sword).

Now aday, Hoan Kiem lake and Turtle Tower are the symbol of Hanoi, and become a pride of Hanoi lovers.

Hôm nay em đã thực sự cảm nhận được cảm giác sống và chiến đấu với một cái đĩa (mặc dù em chưa một lần chạm nó trong trân đấu, hé hé) nhưng cảm giác của ngày hôm nay là rất vui.

Đây là lần đầu tiên em tham gia một giải đấu Frisbee, và em biết có nhiều người cũng mới lần đầu tiên tham gia giải ở Hà Nội, hjhj’ (chắc chắn rồi, mới lần thứ 2 tổ chức mờ). Nhưng tham gia một trận đấu, không thực sự vì thắng thua mà vì mong ước cố gắng và vượt qua chính mình. Hôm nay em đã thực sự vượt qua chính mình, lần đầu tiên em chăm chỉ chạy trong sân như thế, và đấu thực sự chứ không phải vào trận để vui như những lần trước. Lần đầu tiên em đã chạy trên cái sân cổ UNIS đó nhiều như thế, và lần đầu tiên chạy trong sân được 5 điểm, và lần đầu tiên thấy mình cố gắng (thực ra nếu đội có người sub thì đừng mơ em vào sân) há há =))

lần đầu tiên được nhận huy chương vàng =)) lần đầu tiên cười hớn hở vì một môn thể thao. Vì thế, thực sự là hạnh phúc với một người chẳng bao giờ biết thể thao là gì như em, hjhj’.

Và ah thì lại và là em cũng rất vui vì đã tham gia tổ chức giải đấu (mặc dù chỉ làm mỗi nhiệm vụ hò và hét tiền là chính, haha). hé hé. Lý do tham gia thật stupid là cả cái đội Frisbee được có vài mống con gái, thì được mỗi em và chị Giang chăm chỉ nhất, và là thành viên tích cực chuẩn bị nhất. và lý do to hơn mục đích nữa là vì chả lẽ giải Valentine mà lại có toàn mấy thèng “DỰC DỰA” với nhau thì sao gọi là valentine, hé hé. thế là mặc dù có nhiều lý do khiến 2 chị em nửa đi nửa không, rùi cuối cùng vẫn tham gia nhiệt tình, cười nhiệt tình, show ảnh nhiệt tình, nhảy nhiệt tình, chạy cũng nhiệt tình, hí hí

Hôm nay em là em thích cái cảnh cuối cùng, nửa sân bị chuột rút, và cảnh chuối và bón. =)) =)) =)) em cũng thích câu nói của anh Đức:” cô kia, chạy đi, cứ đi bộ thía hả?” và câu trả lời. em thích anh Ben, chưa kịp về đã bị em tóm gọn bắt nộp tiền. hé hé. Em cũng thích đội 1 xì xầm chiến tranh nội bộ. Em cũng thích đội 2 thua thì thua, thiếu leader pro, và thiếu chiến thuật. và cuối cùng em càng thích đội 3, màu trắng iu iu dù yếu kém hơn (vì có mem như em trong đội) nhưng vẫn chiến đấu rất chiến thuật và từ từ, và chiến thắng. Chốt lại là cứ chăm chỉ cày cuốc, thế nào rùi cũng chiến thắng. é hé hé

hơ hơ, và cũng thích nhất màn cuối cùng, trao giải, há há.

Có cái cúp vỡ, ai có muốn đòi lại thì bước qua xác em nhé, em xí nó làm bình hoa rùi., haha, năm sau em thề em hứa là nếu nó chưa vỡ hẳn, em sẽ trả lại cho cả nhà để làm cúp danh dự cho năm sau

Và cũng thích cái màn sau tournament nữa chứ, tớ, bạn Béo, Nghĩa và chị Giang đã đàn đúm tại quén hải sản ăn , chẹp chẹp chẹp, cháo ngao, miến cua xào, mực trứng chiên, ngao hấp và ,,,, và lại đàn đúm tiếp với món xúc xích, chuối prize thừa và capucino tại nhà Tú Bầu, chẹp chẹp, no quá ah. hjhj’

Ah còn quên một chuyện nữa, đó là cái chân của em, hôm nay chạy nhiều ra trò, nên ở đó nó không thèm bị chuột rút, về đến nhà dở chứng bị chuột rút nè, hik. thấy tiếc vì đã không om chuối về nhà, hé hé

Ôi thôi mệt quá đi ngủ, hôm nay đã kín lịch từ 8h sáng đến 10h tối.

ngày mai theo lịch sẽ bắt đầu từ 7:45 am đến 10:00 pm tiếp. hé hé.
