“What’s Ultimate?”, you ask.  Well, it’s a non-contact, fast paced field sport played with two teams of seven men and women.  The object is to throw a Frisbee up the field from teammate to teammate until it’s caught in the opponent’s end zone.  The game combines elements from other sports – the running of soccer, the jumping, pivoting, passing and continual turnovers from offence to defense of basketball, and the long bombs into the end zone of American football.

The Hanoi Ultimate Club plays on Saturday's at the wonderful facilities of the UNIS school (United Nations International School) from 3 to 5 PM.

Note 1. You have to bring your ID card, to show to the guards at UNIS. 

Note 2. If you come by motorbike you will need to wear a helmet in order to be able to drive inside the UNIS facilities (without a helmet you have to push your bike). 

This is strictly enforced.

Directions to UNIS: Take the 'dyke road'  North from the Sofitel Plaza (Nghi Tham Road, later turning into Au Co Road). Take it all the way past the entrance to the Water Park and take a left at the Lac Long Quan Road in South Western direction, after a few hundred meters you can enter the Ciputra - Nam Thang Long urban complex on your right hand side through a gate with two small towers besides it. Drive 200 meters in and you see the entrance of UNIS..

You can also get there from the Kim Ma area driving via Duong Buoi in Northern direction along the east side of Ho Tay (West Lake).

Fees:  

To play disc with HUC for this term (starting 08 Sept 2007 until the end of Dec 2007) you pay 10 USD/160.000 dong (for Vietnamese) and 20 USD/320.000 dong (for Expats). 

 

The fee for visitors is 20,000 dong (approx. 1.25 USD or 1 Euro) per practise.
